How do they function to support student learning?
LST assists in providing literacy lessons for teachers and allows time for teachers to meet with their grade teams.
Collaborative teams - work together on implementing literacy strategies in their lesson plans/unit plans.
Grade level coordinators - assist with the Collaborative days and facilitate table talk.
Intervention team and Educational Assistants - assist in providing resources, classroom strategies to help all learners.
Technology team - look at various technology strategies/tools to assist with school goal.
Accelerated Reader team - allow time for students to get together and celebrate successes.
Admin team - to provide support/resources/assistance.
How does each team play a role in all 3 of the tiers?
Collaborative team
(meets with grade team to discuss data from
all students
in all of their grade).
Example: analyzing date from a combined list of students who required universal supports, targeted supports and specialized supports.
Determining how we can "move" our students on the continuum of supports.
Student Suppor
t team
will work with teacher teams to ensure that modifications, adaptations and interventions are appropriate and effective.
Ensures that the IPPs are aligned with student personal learning needs and school goals.
Learning Support Team
coordinates access to any services or programming beyond the school building.
Supports teachers in providing classroom-based interventions.
Supports teachers in the learning and implementation of research-based reading practices.
Admin team
ensures that students in this specialized area are receiving appropriate interventions
IL process to support data collection, ensuring collective responsibility for students.
Explores issues related to engagement, motivation, behaviour, and attendance.
Ensure quality of instruction in classrooms and that teachers are highly functioning.
Gather, collate and monitor school-wide data.
